Lopamudra Banerjee spearheads the Human Resources function at Carrier Midea India Pvt. Ltd. and is the Deputy Director for South East Asia for the Midea Group.  She joined CMI in 2012 upon the inception of the joint venture between Carrier Corporation and Midea Group. Prior to joining CMI she was took a sabbatical for five years. Her last assignment was Head- Organisation Development for Aviva Life Insurance.

As the HR Head for CMI, Lopa plays a key role in contributing to the growth of the India business. She has been supporting the business by developing and executing an effective HR strategy and has been instrumental in   enhancing the position of the HR team in the organization as one of the major levers to achieve business success. One of the key ongoing roles has been to Drive organizational development and culture initiatives and Act as a change agent on delivering people elements of transformation and change – this includes designing and implementing policies, ensuring they are cascaded and there is no violation of the same. She has a special focus on Employees – Engagement and Talent Management. The SE Asia role includes setting up basic reporting systems for workforce data in these businesses and also setting up the Talent Practice in the different countries.

Lopamudra is a Coach and has been successfully coaching leaders on business areas of Role Transition and Readiness, Higher Performance, Leadership Practices, Execution Excellence, Goal Management, Professional and Personal development. The target developmental group comprises of Functional and Department Heads, Women & Senior Leaders.

Post her graduation from St Stephen’s college, Lopamudra pursued her Masters in History from Delhi University. Lopamudra has spent more than 10 years in Consulting with firms like Ernst & Young and PriceWaterhouseCoopers where she had an opportunity to work across industries and contribute in different areas.

Lopa is married to Giridhar Venugopal  and they have two daughters. She is an amateur painter and an avid reader with a keen ear for Hindustani classical music,
