With three decades of experience, Radharani mines insights formulate strategies and tell stories using new and legacy media to bring about social and behaviour change. She has created several unique and impactful communication interventions such as the Condom Ringtone; the TB Superhero Bulgam Bhai (Mr Sputum); Nugget an Android mobile game for teenagers; BBC Janala (window), an interactive, digital English-learning brand in Bangladesh, the Mr Plan-Plan radio drama series during the Ebola epidemic in Africa, Klahn 9 Dream Station, a TV reality show in Cambodia, to name just a few. She has played a key role in designing BBC Media Action’s mHealth innovations Mobile Kunji, Mobile Academy and Kilkari – the last two have been scaled up nationally by the Government of India. She has masterminded two TV dramas – AdhaFULL (Half-full), a whodunit series on adolescence and gender and Navrangi Re! (Nine to a Shade), on urban sanitation that was broadcast by Viacom 18. Her work has won several Indian and international awards including at ABBY, Cannes, a GSMA Global Award, a Commonwealth Broadcasting Association Award, a Global Health Award, more than one Laadli Media Award for Gender, a Digital Empowerment Foundation Award and a Vodafone Mobile for Good Award, among others.
