Bhairavi Buch Sonowal is a seasoned healthcare, education and social development professional who has created some innovative and meaningful programs to enhance the quality of life of the people impacted. She has now transformed herself into an entrepreneur after having mastered these areas of work. She currently heads a company called HED Healthcare Private Limited as the Managing Partner. Her company has over the last 3 years worked on areas of skill development and skill creation, helping GE Healthcare create 2 centers in Jharkhand and Assam, which has churned out employable students in the field of radiology. She has also started work on Medical Tourism and has partnerships with Apollo Hospitals. Another field of work is around distribution of medical products across Europe.
Bhairavi is deeply concerned with developing a sound social fabric in society and spends a lot of time helping create educational systems, modules and thereby training students in various areas with the intent of generating employment and employability. Earlier in her career she has led nutritional programs aiming towards improving the micronutrients in food. She has worked as an expert auditor for the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) to evaluate the HIV/AIDS program in India. She has also authored a module on women and child health for the Population Foundation of India (PFI). She headed the Micronutrient Initiative (MI) program in Madhya Pradesh and worked closely with UNICEF to improve child survival and prevent maternal mortality and morbidity. She has also worked as a Project Manager for an NGO and headed programs on women and child development, maternal & child health, HIV/AIDS, Adolescent health and developing their life skills, She has invaluable experience of having trained thousands of men, women and adolescents on gender sensitization, preventing sexual harassment, preventing domestic violence thereby advocating policy changes in Gujarat. She has also worked for Red Cross on earthquake rehabilitation for people devastated by the Gujarat earthquakes.
She enjoys developing operational programs that impact livelihood, skill creation and sustainable development of people and community.
